Study: World’s Wildlife More at Risk Than Realized

A team of researchers looked at 7,699 underexamined species. They estimated that about 56 percent of them were facing conditions that likely put the species at risk of dying out, or extinction. That is almost double the 28 percent of species around the world classified as “threatened” by the IUCN.
