Study Finds India’s Tiger Population Doubled in 12 Years

The Indian government’s National Tiger Conservation Authority reported that the number of tigers increased from an estimated 1,706 in 2010 to about 3,682 in 2022. Researchers credit government efforts to involve local people in efforts to save the big cats.
