Lizzie : I can’t wait to learn how to drive! I am so sick and tired of asking my parents to drive me around everywhere all the time…
Andrew : Or you could use public transports.
Lizzie : There’s only like one bus every hour near my house. Can you drive?
Andrew : No, I failed my test twice, so I’ve given up. Besides, we won’t have to learn how to drive for much longer. I saw a documentary the other day about driverless cars, everyone will have one in no time!
Lizzie : Oh that just gives me the shivers, how on earth does it work?
Andrew : It’s so cool! It uses AI, so it doesn’t need a driver. They’ll be much safer than normal cars because they can detect movement, so they’ll know when to speed up and to slow down.
Lizzie : I don’t believe for one second that cars without a driver will be safer than cars with one! I mean it’s just a crazy idea! I’ll eat my hat if people start to have them.
Andrew : Well I think you’re going to be eating your hat very soon, they’re going to be sold from next year! My friend works at one of the factories that will be producing them and I’m seeing one of the prototypes with him tomorrow.
Lizzie : Can I come too? I’d love to know about the prototypes but I’m not joining you if you’re going for a drive. That’s for sure.
