Michele : So, did you hear the story on the news last night about the OAP burglar?
Emily : What are you talking about, an OAP burglar?!
Michele : Well, according to the story, the burglar, whose daughter happens to live on my street, has been raiding local jewelry shops. Last week, he stole from 3 stores. One of them was where I bought my new necklace. So anyway, yesterday afternoon, the guy who did it was caught in the act. No sooner had he left the store, then he was swarmed by local police! Very dramatic.
Emily : So is there any idea why he decided to ransack these places? Sounds like he got overly greedy.
Michele : But, well , apparently the jewelry that he took was going to be used to pay for a family holiday for his daughter. It’s rather sweet, if not still a crazy idea!
Emily : That’s not sweet at all, the people he stole from must have had the fright of their life.
Michele : I guess that’s true! He was only caught when the person he was conspiring with (who happened to be his wife!), ended up confessing to a friend!
Emily : You couldn’t even write it, what a crazy story.
