3 people talking about 9/11

Emily: I saw a moving documentary about 9/11 last night: did you guys get a chance to see it?
Paul: No, I’m afraid I didn’t.
George: Nope, me neither, what was it about?
Emily: It was a documentary about the lives of the survivors of the attacks; some of them were seriously injured, and they only survived because they had fire fighters lift them out of danger. It sounded absolutely terrifying. Do you remember the day?
Paul: Oh I remember it like it was yesterday. When the first tower got hit, I wasn’t sure what had happened. But when the second plane hit the tower, it became clear that something intentional had happened. For the rest of the day, the whole office was in shock trying to understand the gravity of the situation.
George: Yep same for me: I was supposed to go to New York for a conference with colleagues later that week. My office cancelled all the trips; it wasn’t the right time to think about work.
Emily: It was just terrifying, I was at home with my parents watching it unfold on TV.  I remember having my Mum call our extended family in the US just to check everybody was ok, as so many people were affected by it. It was a living nightmare.
