Get / Have passives
Usually, passives are made with be + past participle.
However, in informal English we use ‘get’ instead of ‘be’.
For example :
– The conference was cancelled. —> The conference got cancelled.
– I was made redundant. —> I got made redundant.
When someone arranges to do something, we use have.
For example :
– I remember having my mum call the family.
– I had my hair cut yesterday.
