2 people talking about a trip in Barcelona, with one giving a summary to a friend
Michele: I haven’t seen you in ages! You must tell me about your time in Barcelona!
Emily: Well I’m not sure that I can tell you absolutely everything. It was incredible, but it went by in such a blur!
Michele: You must have loved it! Barcelona is my favourite place to visit. Where did you stay?
Emily: Well I wanted to be close to all the main sites, so I decided to pay for a small room in a hotel right in the middle of the city. I thought it would save me time having to take the subway all of the time.
Michele: It makes sense, so you don’t have to spend all your time on transport. Did you get to see all the sites?
Emily: As many as I could! I was only there for 3 days though, so it was always going to be tough trying to fit everything in. Of course I spent a whole day at the Sagrada Familia, there was so much to see there. I also went up to the Park Guell; the view was breathtaking.
Michele: I’m so jealous! You must have loved it. Did you have a chance to see some friends?
Emily: Well I thought I was going to see some friends from school, but they had decided just at the last minute to go on holiday so I just missed them. But I met a lovely family at the hotel. I didn’t realise they would be so kind to me, they welcomed me like one of the family and took me for dinner!
Michele: That’s so lovely!
Emily: Yes it was such a lovely surprise. The only problem though was the cost; I mean I had a feeling it wasn’t going to be cheap, but I didn’t expect it to be so expensive. Even compared to London, it was so pricey! But I don’t regret it, it was a once in a lifetime trip!
