Kate : Hello ?
Mr Thomson : Hello, is that Ms Clarke.
Kate : Yes, it is.  Who is this ?
Mr Thomson : It’s Mr Thomson, your bank manager.
Kate : Yes ??
Mr Thomson : I’m afraid we have some bad news.
Kate : Oh no, let’s hear it.
Mr Thomson : I’m sorry to tell you this, but you’re overdrawn on your current account.  And have been for over a week now.
Kate : But that’s not possible. I’m never in the red.  I even got paid 2 days ago !  I could show the pay slip.
Mr Thomson : I’m afraid that’s not what is says on your account.  Your credit card bill was 2000€ for the last month.
Kate : That’s not possible ! I don’t remember spending so much money !  Is it possible to see the details please ?
Mr Thomson : You can check on your app.
Kate : But I didn’t make these payments !
Mr Thomson : What do you mean ?
Kate : From the 21st, I didn’t make these payments.  I used my card on the 20th to buy some clothes online.
Mr Thomson : So do you confirm that these payments weren’t made by you.
Kate : No !  They’re all online and I didn’t buy anything on these sites, like, flights, hotels… oh…
Mr Thomson : It seems as though your card has been used fraudulently.   Don’t worry, we’ll sort this out for you.  We just need a signed statement from you, and we’ll cancel your card. You’ll need to go to the police station too.
Kate : How long before I get reimbursed and before I get my new credit card ?
Mr Thomson : It’ll take a couple of days for the transfer to show up on your account again.  And your card will be available within 5 working days.
Kate : OK
Mr Thomson : And I recommend that you don’t go shopping for clothes on this site again !
