After playing sport:

Paul : That was a good match ! I can’t believe you beat me again. I really must train more.
Melissa : And eat more healthily. Your body is a temple, you know !
Paul : So, do you miss living in South Africa ?
Melissa : Yeah I do, the landscapes, the beaches, the weather…
Paul : Yeah… What was it like living there ?
Melissa : Very different to now ! Well, I grew up during apartheid, so I lived in a mostly white neighborhood, and I went to a white school. But things have changed a lot ! And now people sit next to each other at school, in the bus and…we’ve still got a long way to go but yeah, it’s changed a lot.
Paul : Did you ever meet Nelson Mandela ?
Melissa : No never, but I wish I had. What a great man ! He did so much for South Africa. You know if you go to Cape Town next time, I highly recommend you visit Robben Island.
Paul : What’s special about Robben Island ?
Melissa : Well, it’s got a really long history, but it’s mostly famous as a Maximum Security Prison and a lot of South Africa’s freedom fighters were incarcerated there for a long time. It’s really emotional and the tour culminates with a visit of Nelson Mandela’s cell and it’s so small ! And you really understand the hardship that he must have gone through.
Paul : (looks on phone) Here it says, « Robben Island, a unique symbol of “the triumph of the human spirit over adversity” ».
Melissa : Well yeah, I think what Nelson Mandela did through peace and understanding, for me it really is a triumph of the human spirit.
