Adjectives using -ed / -ing
• We use adjectives ending in -ed to describe a feeling / an emotion (eg. I am depressed.)
• We use adjectives ending in -ing to describe an object that causes a feeling / an emotion(eg. The rain is depressing.)
Examples of adjectives that can end in -ed and -ing :
– tired / tiring
– depressed / depressing
– frightened / frightening
– excited / exciting
– interested / interesting
– motivated / motivating
– embarrassed / embarrassing
