George : Hi Emily, how was your trip to London yesterday ?
Emily : It was a complete nightmare. It was the worst journey I’ve ever had.
George : What happened ?
Emily : Well, it all started well, I had my usual seat by the window on the train. Then, at the next stop, this guy got on and sat next to me. First of all, he tried to put his bag overhead, but it fell on me. It really hurt and he didn’t seem apologetic at all. Then, he put his headphones on and his music was really loud. I was working on my laptop and it was really difficult to concentrate. I asked him to turn it down, and he did, but not enough, so I could still hear his awful music. Then, to top it all off, he fell asleep and snored for the rest of the journey !
George : Did you manage to get some work done ?
Emily : Well I tried working on the train, but it was impossible. Then, when I got to London, the Underground workers were on strike, so I had to find a taxi. Of course the taxi queues were really long, so I had to wait for half an hour. Then, when I finally got to the client’s office, I was waiting in reception when his secretary came and told me that he hadn’t come in because of the tube strikes !
George : So you went to London for nothing ?
Emily : Not exactly, his secretary set up a visio meeting so we could still talk business. He was very interested in our proposal. But I could have done the meeting from here !
George : Did you get back OK ?
Emily : When I got to the train station, everything was OK. But I feel like I wasted a lot of time…
George : I understand. How frustrating !
