Paul : Our holiday couldn’t have got off to a worse start. First, the airline lost our luggage so we had to spend the first few days in the clothes we travelled in.
Luckily, there were some cheap shops near the hotel so we were able to buy a few things until our luggage arrived.
Speaking of the hotel, it was a nightmare ! They had overbooked, so they didn’t have enough rooms and they put us in the smallest room : there was barely enough rooms to put our bags in !
On the first night we went down to eat at the hotel restaurant, but it was closed. Apparently, the chef and most of the staff were off sick with food poisoning. Not a good sign. So we decided to eat in town instead.
On the second day we were woken up by workmen. They were building another hotel right next to ours. The noise was deafening !
So, leaving the hotel as soon as we could we headed for the beach. Only to find that the water was polluted. There was loads of rubbish in the sea.
So we laid on the beach, not being able to swim all day long with no way of cooling down. I got very sunburned because I didn’t have a hat. I was unable to go outside for a long time afterwards.
I’m just glad to be home.
