Past simple / Passive past simple
• We use the past simple to talk about completed actions.
– Affirmative form : The lady drove the bus. (Subject + verb + object)
– Negative form : The lady didn’t drive the bus. (Subjecy + didn’t + verb + object)
– Question form : Did the lady drive the bus ? ( Auxiliary do + subject + verb + object)
• We use the passive past simple to talk about something that was done by someone in the past.
– Affirmative form : The bus was driven by the lady. (Object + was/were + past participle + subject)
– Negative form : The bus wasn’t driven by the lady. (Object + wasn’t/weren’t + past participle + subject)
– Question form : Was the bus driven by the lady ? (Was/were + object + past participle + subject)
