When we meet new people, we ask different questions such as :

· Where do you come from ?
· Do you live nearby ?
· How long have you lived in this area for ?
· What do you do for a living ? (to ask about a job)
· How do you spend your free time ? (to ask about activities)

If we think that we have met the person before we say :

· You look familiar.
· I recognise you.
· Have I met you before ?
· Haven’t I seen you before ?

To express how we feel when meeting someone new we say :

· It’s lovely to meet you !
· It’s a pleasure to meet you !
· Good to meet you !
