Family meeting at The Clarks
Michele : Right, well it’s nearly Christmas and we’re so glad to have our Kate home for the holidays. I’m making the shopping list for Christmas day. So should we stick to traditional turkey and Brussels sprouts ?
Kate : Well erm no turkey for me please. I forgot to tell you earlier, but I’m vegan now.
Michele : Really ?
Lizzie : Yeah, so am I !
Michele : No !
Lizzie : I’m only joking. I love turkey ! Besides, it’s tradition, and I think we should stick to traditions.
Joe : I don’t agree. I hate Brussels sprouts, they’re disgusting. I say we don’t have them this year.
Kate : What ? Brussels sprouts is the best part of the meal.
Joe : No way.
Michele : I can see we’re not going to please everyone this year !
Paul : We could have burgers and fries. That would make me happy !
Joe : Me too !
Michele : No way. You already eat hamburgers and fries nearly every day. It’s Christmas, so we’ll eat turkey. But I agree we can change the vegetables. Why don’t we have carrots and peas instead of Brussels sprouts ?
Lizzie and Kate : Fine by me.
Joe and Paul : Grrr.
Michele : And for Christmas dessert ? What kind of log shall I order ? Coffee or chocolate ?
Lizzie : I don’t like coffee.
Joe : Neither do I.
Michele : Chocolate then.
Joe : Great.
Michele : Why don’t I order an ice cream log ? A chocolate frozen log.
Kate : I don’t eat dairy !
Michele : If I’d known, I wouldn’t have made an omelette for lunch today. Sorry. Well, for Christmas dessert, you’ll have to make a fruit salad as well.
Kate : Ok, good idea !
Michele : All set then.
