Paul receives a parcel at home
Joe : Dad, you’ve just received a massive parcel !
Paul : Ah, it must be my new speakers. I ordered them a couple of weeks ago.
Joe : Let’s have a look…
(Paul opens parcel)
Paul : Hang on, hang on a minute… This isn’t what I ordered. This is the wrong colour for a start, I ordered black. And this is the wrong size, this is much too small and it’s the wrong brand as well. They really have got everything wrong. Hang on, let me just check I’ve got the confirmation email here. Yes, right.
(Checks his phone)
On the phone :
Paul : Hello, yes, I’d like to speak to the manager please.
Manager: This is the manager.
Paul : Ah yes, good, I ordered a speaker from you a couple of weeks ago and I received a delivery this morning. However, the content is completely wrong.
Manager: Could you tell me your name please ?
Paul : It’s Clark.
Manager: C L A R K E
Paul : No, no E.
Manager: I see, there seems to have been a mix up with your delivery. We had two deliveries for Mr Clark, and we dispatched your speaker to Mr Clarke (with an E) and his to you. I’m terribly sorry. We’ll have one of our staff deliver your speaker this week and return the other one. We can come on Friday between 8am and 2pm.
Paul : No, I work then ! This really isn’t good enough. Can you come this afternoon ?
Manager : I’m afraid Saturday’s our busiest day and no-one is available. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience.
Paul : Well, can you deliver it to my work address instead please, at Star Tech Enterprise ?
Manager : Of course, that won’t be a problem.
Paul : and will I receive some form of compensation ?
Manager: We can offer you a 20% discount on your next purchase in our shop.
Paul : Thank you !
