Paul : Right, we’ve called this family meeting to discuss where to go for our next holiday. I’ve asked each of you to come up with a suggestion. Who wants to start ?
Kids : Me, me.
Michele : What about Joe because he’s the youngest.
Lizzie : That’s so unfair !
Joe : Well, I’d like to do some extreme sports such as kitesurfing. I’ve researched the best locations, and one of them is in Maui, Hawaii. Jack went there last year and he told me it was amazing !
Paul : And his father told me it was expensive. You should save your money !
Michele : And I don’t like traveling by plane, not long distances. It’s too far for me.
Joe : Oh Mum !
Paul : It’s a good suggestion though. Right let’s hear what Lizzie has to say.
Lizzie : Well, during the next holiday, it’s the Paris Fashion Week. I’d love to go ! I mean, we wouldn’t have to go on the plane because we could just use the Eurostar. And we could also go sightseeing in Paris !
Joe : You mean celebrity spotting for you !
Lizzie : Well of course we’d go celebrity spotting. My friend told me that we could go and visit some art galleries such as the Louvre.
Paul : Well, it’s a lot closer to home and therefore more affordable. And we haven’t been to Paris for a long time.
Joe : We’ve never been !
Michele : And Joe could practise his French ! I was going to suggest Italy.
Paul : We went there last year !
Lizzie : …and the year before that !
Paul : Let’s have a change.
Michele : But I love Italy !
Paul : I think Lizzie’s idea is a good one. Does everyone agree on a trip to Paris ? (…) Great. I’ll look into the tickets. We should book early to get cheaper tickets !
