Kate : I’m a music student, and I need to choose a language for my course.
Courtney : That’s right.
Kate : I’m hesitating between two languages and I would like some information on Italian and Chinese ?
Courtney : No problem. Here’s our catalogue with all the languages that we offer, all the courses that we offer. Chinese is on page 10 and Italian is on page 3.
Kate : What do you recommend ?
Courtney : It depends on what you like and on your timetable. A lot of music students choose French. Italian is really popular too. Chinese is less popular but the classes are smaller, about 5 people, and the students appreciate this.
Kate : Can I have the timetable for these two classes ?
Courtney : Sure. Italian is 2 hours per week Friday morning from 10am to 12pm and Chinese is 2 hours per week Monday afternoon from 4pm to 6pm.
Kate : Well… I work on Monday afternoon, so I think I’ll take Italian. Can I sign up now ?
Courtney : Of course. Please sit down here and I’ll take your details. Do you have your student card ?
Kate : Yes, yes, I have it here. Will it take long ?
Courtney : I just have to fill out this form.
Kate : OK. Can you tell me where the toilets are ?
Courtney : They’re on the 2nd floor. You can take the stairs or the lift at the end of the corridor. On the 2nd floor it’s the first door on the left.
Kate : OK. I’ll be back in 5 minutes!
