Kate : Did you see, we have to choose a language for our course !
Alexandra : Yes, I saw that. What are you going to choose ?
Kate : Well, I haven’t chosen yet. I used to do French and Spanish in school, but I was terrible ! French was the most difficult language for me and I hated my teacher !
Alexandra : And what about Spanish ?
Kate : Well my Spanish teacher was the nicest person, but she was the worst teacher. We didn’t learn anything ! And I guess I just wasn’t lucky with my languages. How about you ?
Alexandra : I loved languages ! My school offered Asian languages and some rarer languages like Arabic. The rarest language was Kurdish !
Kate : Wow, kurdish ! What else did you study ?
Alexandra : I chose Chinese. I started with Arabic, but it was too difficult for me. Chinese was much easier !
Kate : Easier ? I heard Chinese was the hardest language to learn !
Alexandra : Some parts are difficult, like the writing and the pronunciation. But Chinese grammar is much simpler than English grammar ! Look, they offer Chinese as part of the course, you should try it !
Kate : Yes, well maybe… maybe I’ll try a different language. I’ll think about it !
