George : Hello everyone. Thank you for coming to this meeting today. I have exciting news ! We are investing in new technology and upgrading all of our IT systems.
First, we are changing all the computers. No more desktops ! Everyone will get a new laptop. Laptops are more convenient and they are easier to use. They are lighter, they are smaller, they can fit in your bag, so you can go to customer meetings, so you can occasionally work from home or hot desk in the office.
Emily : What’s « hot desk » ?
George : So that means you can work from anywhere in the office, at any desk.
For those of you who have company mobile phones, we are upgrading them to smartphones. That means they are bigger but they can be used as a tablet. They are more convenient because you can have access to all your files.
For all the sales staff, we are providing tablets too. The screen is bigger so you can use them to demo our latest products.
