Emily : Today, the server at work had a problem and there was no internet for 2 hours. It was terrible !
Matt : What did you do ?
Emily : Well, I couldn’t check my emails. I couldn’t access my files. So I made some phone calls and organised my desk.
Matt : We do everything with the internet now. When it doesn’t work, it’s a disaster.
Michele : The other day at the house, the internet wasn’t working. The wifi was down. I wanted to read a new book on my e-reader, and I couldn’t download it ! I wanted to listen to music, and I couldn’t… I didn’t know what to do !
Anna: I agree, without internet, it’s a nightmare ! I can’t use social media !
Paul : But social media is for teenagers. They use it to chat with friends, like Lizzie ! She’s on social media all the time. She takes photos of everything : friends, food, make-up, toes, everything…
Anna : I don’t agree. I have friends from all over the world and I use social media to communicate with them. It’s easy ! It can be dangerous. I mean Lizzie can meet people she doesn’t know.
Michele : She is very careful. Some of the people at her school have posted nasty things online. One of her friends was really upset.
Emily : I agree. Internet is great, but you have to be very careful.
