COUNTABLE
– Individual objects, people, places which can be counted.
– They can be singular or plural.
EXAMPLES:
A friend
An apple
Lots of trees
5 oranges
UNCOUNTABLE
– Materials, information, which can not be counted.
– Always singular.
EXAMPLES:
Information
Water
Wood
Cheese
CAREFUL!
Much = Used to describe uncountable nouns.
– How much milk do we need ?
Many = Used to describe countable nouns.
– How many pairs of shoes do you have ?
