There are two ways of asking questions in the present continuous :
1. If the question relates to the complement of the verb :
Question word + Is or are + subject + verb-ing
E.g.
Lizzie is doing her homework -> What is Lizzie doing ?
Paul is sleeping -> What is Paul doing ?
Michele is cooking -> What is Michele doing ?
2. If the question relates to the subject of the verb:
Question word + is or are + verb-ing + complement
E.g.
Lizzie is doing her homework -> Who is doing their homework ?
Paul is sleeping -> Who is sleeping ?
Michele is cooking -> Who is cooking ?
Negative structure :
Subject + to be (present) + verb + ing
E.g.
He is / He’s not eating much -> Il n’est pas en train de manger beaucoup
She is / She’s not washing up -> Elle n’est pas en train de faire la vaisselle
They are / They’re not speaking -> Ils sont pas en train de parler
