Like + Gerund
To like : Aimer
To not like : Ne pas aimer
To love : Adorer
To hate : Détester
To not mind : Ne pas s’en soucier
We can use these verbs to describe what we think of something.
On utilise ces verbes pour expliquer ce qu’on pense d’une activité.
e.g.
I love speaking to my friends
I love walking
GERUND
Are words formed with verbs, but act like nouns. They always end with -ing.
Ce sont des mots formés avec des verbes, mais qui agissent comme des noms. Ils se terminent toujours par -ing
e.g.
Making the bed.
Washing the dishes.
Doing my homework.
Normally ‘like’ ‘love’ ‘hate’ and ‘don’t mind’ are followed by the gerund.
Normalement ‘like’ ‘love’ ‘hate’ et ‘don’t mind’ sont suivi de ‘verb+ing’
e.g.
I love speakING
I like walkING
I hate shoppING
