WH- questions :
1. They all begin with wh, except for ‘how’.
Elles commencent avec ‘WH’, sauf ‘how’.
2. They are all open questions.
Elles sont toutes des questions ouvertes.

Who = To get information about a person.
Pour rechercher l’identité d’une personne.
e.g. Who is this person in the picture ?
Qui est cette personne sur la photo ?

Where = To get information about a location.
Pour rechercher où se trouve quelqu’un.
e.g. Where do you live ?
Ou habite-tu ?

What = To ask for information about something.
Pour rechercher la nature de quelque chose.
e.g. What is your job ?
Quel est ton emploi ?

When = To get information about the time something happens.
Pour savoir l’heure à laquelle quelque chose se produit.
e.g. When do you start work ?
Quand commences-tu le travail ?

Why = To get information about the reason something happens.
Pour savoir pourquoi quelque chose se produit.
e.g. Why do you work here ?
Pourquoi travailles-tu ici ?

How = To find information about the way something happens.
Pour rechercher la façon dont quelque chose se passe.
e.g. How do you make this table ?
Comment fabriquez-vous cette table ?

Whose = To get information about who something belongs to.
Pour rechercher a qui appartient quelque chose.
e.g. Whose book is this ?
A qui est ce livre ?
