In Uganda, Cost of Attending School Keeps Children Home
The World Bank says African countries south of the Sahara Desert have the highest rates of children out of school. In Uganda, parents say school costs are high, and they increase for many reasons. Schools regularly ask for additional money to pay for different projects.
