India Implements Much-debated New Citizenship Law

India establishes a new law that makes it easier for non-Muslim minorities to seek Indian citizenship. The law was approved by India’s parliament in 2019. But the government of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to delay the measure after huge protests by groups opposed to the law.
