Report: 43,000 Estimated Dead in Somalia Drought Last Year

In the first official death count for the drought affecting large parts of the Horn of Africa, an estimated 43,000 Somalians have died. The current crisis is worsened by climate change and insecurity as Somalia battles thousands of fighters with al-Qaida’s East Africa counterpart, al-Shabab.
