Tension Grows Between Government, Catholic Church in Nicaragua
The government recently closed seven radio stations belonging to the Catholic Church. It also started an investigation into a church leader who has been a critic of President Daniel Ortega. Ortega accused him of stirring up violence “to carry out acts of hate against the population.”
